Live Animal Programs at High Desert Museum Print

Meet a porcupine, badger, skunk, owls, hawks, lizards, toads, snakes and other live animals up close in new daily programs. The programs allow visitors to get close up to live wild animals, and learn all about them. The Desert Dwellers programs, which rotate daily at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., are: High Desert Habitats - Explore how animals in the High Desert have adapted to a variety of environments; Feeding and Breeding - Discover how the diets of High Desert animals change with the seasons, and learn about some of the fascinating and downright bizarre courtship and reproductive behaviors displayed by wildlife in this region; Don’t Pick It Up - Learn how to react when encountering wildlife in their natural habitats; and Training 101 - Explore how Museum staff trains animals as part of a program to care for them.
