It’s been seventeen years since the Gala at The Riverhouse made its debut. The Gala began as, and continues to be, the tourism industry’s way of giving back to our community. Since it began, this annual event has raised over $1,000,000 for beneficiaries such as: • Boys & Girls Club Monday, January 19, 2009 • 6:00pm - Cocktails & Silent Auction. The 2009 beneficiary is The Family Resource Center (FRC), a non-profit that has been serving Central Oregon families since 1990. All services focus on investing in parents so that children and youth succeed. FRC believes when parenting is at its best, children thrive. Thriving families equate to thriving communities: there is less juvenile crime, less adolescent drug use, increased school retention rates, and less child abuse and neglect. Gala proceeds will go toward the Family Resource Center Endowment Fund established in 2002 and administered through The Oregon Community Foundation. Every year 100% of the proceeds are dedicated to the selected beneficiary. All products and services for the Gala are donated, including the five course meal at The Riverhouse.
