Central Oregon’s a memorable trip, no matter where you’re coming from.

Bend-Sunriver is predominantly a regional destination, for visitors coming from Western Oregon, Washington and California. But we also see our fair share of international visitors who fly in from Japan, Germany, Canada and England.

So here’s a little geography lesson: Oregon is divided right down the middle, by the Cascade Mountain Range. On the western side you have the Pacific Coast and the wet, green Oregon you probably imagine.

On the east side of the mountains it’s a different world altogether. Here, the average annual rainfall is only 12 inches. (That’s less than L.A.) You have year-round access to the mountains, lakes, and rivers, as well as the desert of Eastern Oregon. And it’s all within easy reach of six major cities.
