Bend Mountain Biking Scene Ranked in National Geographic’s Top 10
Central Oregon is one of the best places in the world to mountain bike.
That statement isn’t hyperbole and it’s no longer a secret. Not after recent numerous magazine mentions and publications like BIKE Magazine basing it’s entire 2015 Bible of Bike Tests here.
National Geographic added more accolades recently by naming Bend one of America’s 10 Best Mountain Bike Towns.
“Located in Central Oregon’s high desert at the eastern flank of the Cascade Mountains, Bend offers around 300 miles of easily accessible linked trails—and the majority of them are true singletrack.”
Beyond Bend, more singletrack is being created in Prineville and Redmond while the Peterson Ridge trail system in Sisters is gaining traction as a must-ride spot for cyclists.
The National Geographic story goes on to talk to local mountain biking legend Lindsey Voreis, asking her about her favorite trails, places to eat and even where to spend the night. It even talks about some of the off-the-bike activities that make Central Oregon an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise.
