Sleigh Rides, Santa’s Workshop Highlight Sunriver Traditions Festivities

Traditions are what make the holidays so special and in Sunriver, the end of November and all of December is dedicated to helping you and your family create new memories.

Some of the most magical moments you’ll experience are in the great outdoors. Here, you don’t just get to sing about a one horse open sleigh, at the Sunriver Stables, you can actually load your family and friends up in one and go dashing through the snow. The views from your sleigh ride are enough to take your breath away as the icy Deschutes River snakes around each bend piled high with snow.

If you’re looking for something a little more action, how about a parent versus kid race down the tubing hill near the SHARC? After a quick hike to the top that’s appropriate for all ages, you’ll fly down the track and immediately want to go for round two, and then…round three!

Throughout the holiday season, there are lots of opportunities for your little ones to get creative in Santa’s Workshop. Not only will they leave with something special to take home, this is the perfect bonding opportunity where they’ll create life-long memories with family.

Deck the halls doesn’t quite sum up what the Village at Sunriver looks like this time of year. Everywhere you look, there’s little bits of the Christmas spirit. When the kids are all tuckered out and you’re ready for a festive drink, head to the Twisted River Tavern at the Sunriver Lodge for a classic cocktail, the perfect ending to a perfect day.
