Ghost Tree Invitational is a Central Oregon Golf & Culinary Hole in One
Central Oregon is known worldwide for our world-class golf. Our culinary scene is quickly gaining national attention as well, with amazing chefs running unique restaurants. But maybe no event combines the best of those two worlds like the Ghost Tree Invitational at Pronghorn Resort.
Pronghorn is one of Golf Magazine’s top 25 Golf Communities thanks to two amazing courses: The Nicklaus Signature Course and the Tom Fazio Signature Course. The Ghost Tree happens at the Nicklaus Course on Friday, August 4th and features 60 teams playing a shamble. (Everyone tees off, pick the best drive and then play your own ball into the hole.)
Some great prizes await the gross and net winners. There’s also some pretty great prizes for a hole-in-one.
The culinary experience happens on Saturday with Dinner on the Range. You’ll join 1,600 guests for a unique culinary experience featuring 14 of the finest local chefs preparing more than 20 dishes for you to sample. Wash it all down with locally hand-crafted beers, local spirit tastings and a variety of wines.
Additionally, the event is a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of Central Oregon and the Assistance League. There’s a silent auction tent on site with some truly unique items. Two years ago the event raised more than $90,000!
For locals, the Ghost Tree is a chance to see some old friends and try some new dishes from your favorite restaurants. For visitors, it’s a superb opportunity – in just two days – to sample everything that makes Central Oregon such a great place to be: great golf, great food, great beer and great people giving back to great causes. With luxury lodging, delicious restaurants, a spa and more, Pronghorn Resort is perfect for a long weekend getaway.
Here’s a schedule of events for the 2017 Ghost Tree.
Double shotgun golf tournament at 7:45am and 1:30pm. Please be warmed up and ready by your carts at least 20 minutes before each start time. Complimentary range balls will be provided.
Proper golf attire is required. No jeans or denim of any kind and no t-shirts. Tennis shoes or a pair of athletic shoes are just fine, you do not need to purchase golf shoes if you don’t own any. A majority of people will be wearing a collared shirt with a pair of casual shorts.
Dinner On The Range
4pm to 11pm – Driving Range
The main attraction of the weekend, Dinner on the Range, featuring 16 of Central Oregon’s finest chefs, hand-crafted beer, a variety of wines and spirit tastings, specialty desserts and more. In addition, we will welcome a live band to the Ghost Tree Invitational stage.
Party/Cocktail Dress. The women get dressed up for this evening. Women are wearing nice dresses and the level of attire is probably just below a fancy cocktail party. Men again wear slacks with a button up shirt or something comparable. Please see our photos of the dinner or the video below showing what people wear that evening. Though the event starts when its quite warm out, the temperature drops quite a bit in the evening and therefore sweaters and jackets are recommended.
