You may find yourself watching one of today's hottest bands at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in the Old Mill District one minute, and another you will be walking the streets of Downtown Bend, indulging in samples of Central Oregon's famous craft beer and contemporary brewery food, or attending the annual fair & rodeo or one of the hundreds of other events at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds & EXPO Center. If you are traveling from out of town for some of Central Oregon's yearly events, like the Sisters Quilt Show or the Pacific Crest Weekend Sports Festival, we encourage you to take a look at our many places to stay. Or, if your desired event brings you to town for only a day, check out all of our unique restaurants and brewpubs - there is surely something to please everyone! The High Desert Museum invites you to “Raptors of the Desert Sky”. Raptors take flight overhead in this intimate demonstration. Experience these powerful predators up close as wildlife specialists showcase the birds’ agility and grace. This program is a highlight of the Museum’s summer experience. Hawks, owls, falcons and turkey vultures soar from perch to perch directly over the crowd seated in a natural amphitheater nestled in the Museum’s pine forest. A Museum expert narrates the action and shares about the hunting strategies and natural behaviors of these spectacular birds of prey.

The Half Day Deschutes River Tour is available every Tuesday and Friday during the summer from 9am to 1pm. Imagine floating on a kayak or canoe through a completely undeveloped, pristine and aqua-blue section of river in the heart of Deschutes National Forest. Paddling among lava flows stretching to Paulina Peak in Newberry Crater National Monument, Aspen groves, tranquil lagoons and side channels. Tumalo Creek’s Half-Day Deschutes River Tour is the perfect mini-adventure for visitors who want to fit in another activity in the afternoon. The Half-Day Deschutes River Kayak Tour is suggested as a relaxing outing for visitors and locals of all ages and skill levels.
Note: Please call the shop directly for reservations occurring 24 hours or less from class start date, 541.317.9407. Minimum enrollment needs can periodically result in course rescheduling.
Grab a putter after dark and keep the party “glowing’ with one of Sunriver Resort’s most popular programs. Using glowing golf balls, try your luck as you putt away on the 9-hole grass putting course.
Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday | 9:00pm – 10:30pm | $15 per person
We accept walk-up players until 10:15. Check inside the Merchant Trader Gift Shop then head out to the putting course!
Sunset Dinners at Mt. Bachelor are Central Oregon’s most unique dining experience. Step out onto the deck while the sun still lingers over the scenic Cascade Range. Experience fixed-price dinner with family-style appetizer & salad choices and an individual choice of eight entrees…all at 7,800 feet. Dining with friends, family or that special someone, a Sunset Dinner at Pine Marten Lodge is one you won’t forget. Complete your night with a moonlight chairlift ride down the slopes of Mt Bachelor.
The Sunset Dinner package is $65 for adults and $29 for youth (6-12). The scenic chairlift ride and soft drinks are included, but alcoholic beverages, special-order items and gratuity are extra. A complimentary scenic chairlift ride is included with the Sunset Dinner experience.

Reservations are strongly encouraged and are available starting at 5:00 p.m., with the last reservation at 8:15 p.m. each day that dinner is offered. Mt. Bachelor reserves the right to charge a $25 per-person no-show fee for those to have a reservation but do not show up. Please call 541-382-1709 in advance of your dinner reservation to cancel.
Tumalo Creek Sundowner Standup Paddleboard Evening is a fun opportunity to get on the water for folks that have previous paddleboard experience. For only $25 you will be provided a paddleboard, PFD and paddle for 90 minutes on the beautiful Deschutes river. Our Sundowner Standup Paddleboard Night is designed for ages 16+ and will provide an engaging and affordable way to enjoy the river. Come enjoy a casual evening on the water followed by an optional sundowner beer on the back deck. Monday nights in July and August from 6pm-8pm.
Oregon High Desert Classics are hosted on a beautiful 40-acre ranch in sunny Bend, Oregon. These premier AA hunter/jumper competitions attract top riders from all over the Western United States and Canada.

Held in Bend, Oregon, Cork & Barrel is an annual three-day wine and food event series benefiting KIDS Center. Each year Cork & Barrel brings a different and unique wine region to Central Oregon. In 2019, we are proud to feature the wines of Southern Oregon!

From the intimate Winemaker Dinners, to A Sip of Cork & Barrel where you can mingle with winemakers and meet local and regional guest chefs, to the Grand Cru gala fundraising event with a 5-course dinner and Central Oregon’s best live auction…you don’t want to miss it!

Calling all rocketeers! Come to the Oregon Observatory on Thursdays throughout the summer and learn more about the principles of rocketry. You’ll also explore the history of rockets and the future of space exploration. Then, build and launch your own large model rocket. These are the largest rockets allowed to launch at the Oregon Observatory.
Ages 8-15 Registration is required.
Join Oregon Natural Desert Association staff and supporters for Sagebrush Sippers happy hours in our office this summer. Mix and mingle, learn about new aspects of Oregon’s high desert, and find opportunities to dig deeper into our conservation work.
This month, hear more about how to further your conservation advocacy with ONDA’s staff and enjoy cold beverages including beer from Immersion Brewing. Look for more Sagebrush Sippers events in Bend all summer. These events are free and open to all.
Every Thursday, July 12th – August 16th in Drake Park. The evening kicks off at 5:30pm with live music. Don’t worry you’ll have time in between the opening and headliner acts to grab some delicious grub from one of the many food trucks and vendors or sip on a Deschutes Brew to quench your summer time thirst while you browse local artisans and craftspeople’s booths. The Munch & Music food court is sure to have something for everyone! As one of the largest gatherings of all you favorite local food trucks and vendors; make sure you arrive hungry!
The Deschutes Brewery Libation Stations will be available with beer, wine and a specialty cocktail weekly. With our walk-around policy, you can roam the area freely with your beverage! No outside alcohol is allowed on the event premise.
We love your dogs, but please leave them at home. Our event attracts large crowds of people and many small children. Thank you for sparing your pup the overwhelming atmosphere by leaving them at home.
Located in the iconic Drake Park of downtown Bend, head downtown and you can’t miss us! With an outdoor amphitheater nestled just along the Deschutes River, this is an ideal spot for a weekly picnic with live music and lots of grassy knolls to share. Lawn seating only. Only low back chairs are permitted. And, please be courteous of those willing to sit on the ground and place your chairs towards the back of the concert seating area. We thank you in advance!
