If you are traveling from out of town for some of Central Oregon's yearly events, like the Sisters Quilt Show or the Pacific Crest Weekend Sports Festival, we encourage you to take a look at our many places to stay. The High Desert Museum invites you to “Raptors of the Desert Sky”. Raptors take flight overhead in this intimate demonstration. Experience these powerful predators up close as wildlife specialists showcase the birds’ agility and grace. This program is a highlight of the Museum’s summer experience. Hawks, owls, falcons and turkey vultures soar from perch to perch directly over the crowd seated in a natural amphitheater nestled in the Museum’s pine forest. A Museum expert narrates the action and shares about the hunting strategies and natural behaviors of these spectacular birds of prey.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first humans landing on the Moon. The Observatory’s NASA Solar System Ambassadors will offer special presentations followed by telescope viewing of the moon and night sky.
Programs begin at 8pm and are followed by night sky viewing and a laser-guided constellation tour.
Bike decorating, a mini parade, and raffle prizes will brighten the streets of Sisters on July 21. Courtesy of Sisters Farmers Market and EuroSports, Bike Day celebrates healthy outdoor activity and creativity for all ages.
The fun kicks off at EuroSports in Sisters at 11:00 a.m., where all are invited to decorate their bikes. EuroSports will provide decoration supplies free of charge, in addition to raffle prizes.
At 11:30 a.m., Kaleb and Rachel Kelleher will lead a mini bike parade through town, ending at Fir Street Park for a full farmers’ market day. A raffle follows after noon, with prizes donated by EuroSports, Sisters Saloon, Paulina Springs Books, market vendors, and others.
Sisters Farmers Market invites you to come on down for some small-town fun! Share the bounty of our special town in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Microlocal produce, artisanal foods, handcrafted goods, & more! Now on Sundays—featuring lunch, coffee, wellness demos, music, and a splash pad for the kids.
Family Rocketry is a summer activity the entire family can enjoy at The Oregon Observatory in Sunriver. Participants will learn about the basic principles and history of rockets. They will have time to do some assembly and decorating of their rockets before going out to launch them on site. This class is open to younger rocketeers ages 5 and up. We also ask every group to have at least one adult present during the class.
Treat mom and dad to a night out while the kids have a ball at The Outpost. Kids Night Out is three hours of fun-filled games galore and so much more! Whether kids choose arts and crafts, outdoor adventures or just ‘monkey-around,’ Sunriver Resort has created the perfect evening programs for your children ages 3-10.

The Jefferson County Fair in Madras is considered Central Oregon’s Best Free Fair! Bring the whole family and enjoy concerts, food, carnival, animals, exhibits, rodeo and a whole lot more! This event is held at the beautiful Jefferson County Fair complex. There will be concerts each night.

Do you have what it takes to navigate a space rover? Come to the Oregon Observatory and test your skills on Earth by navigating an obstacle course with a remote-controlled rock crawler and learn how rovers have played a key role in our understanding of other worlds. Each child will then build and personalize their own solar rover to take home. Ages 8-15.
