ALL UPCOMING EVENTS
“The Subaru of Bend Outside Games is four days of celebrating the best that Central Oregon has to offer: live music, local brews, and fun and games on the trails, around the town, at Mt Bachelor, at Elk Lake and on the beautiful Deschutes River.
We will sip, bike, splash, paddle, run, dine, laugh and play with you. Bring the kids & the dogs. You will challenge yourselves, learn from the pros, try a new sport, head out to a concert, and just relax under the summer skies in the best of company, and for the best of causes.
The Subaru of Bend Outside Games is proud to benefit those local non-profit organizations that support our community and make this a wonderful place to live and thrive. Come play with us in 2019!”
The Kids Balloon Blast is an obstacle course race for kids ages 3-10 with seven to eight fun and exciting obstacles appropriate for all types of children with a wide range of skill levels. We encourage parents and guardians to come and cheer their little athletes on as they enjoy being part of a supportive, healthy and motivational community event.
The Balloon Blast is the 5th race in the Kids Rock the Races Series. All participants will receive a race bib, finishers ribbons and a stamp on their Kids Rock the Races race bib and be eligible for cool prizes.
Cascade Lakes Relay is Oregon’s most challenging running relay course. It starts in the Cascade Mountains at Diamond Lake Resort, travels through the Oregon Outback and rural agricultural country, and winds back to the Cascade Lakes Highway, around Mt. Bachelor and into the resort community of Bend. You’ll see more cows than semi-trucks and smell pine trees instead of exhaust. If you are seeking an adventure where you can push your limits and rediscover your senses, then this is the event for you and your team.
The annual Sunriver Half Marathon for a Cause winds through a course that shows off some of the Sunriver Valley’s most spectacular views. But – as its name suggests – it’s not just about fresh air, fitness and peaceful panoramas. This is a race with purpose. In 2018, more than 450 runners of all ages raised $38,500 for the St. Charles Cancer Center in Bend, Oregon. This money us used in a myriad of ways to ease cancer patients financial burdens.
Participants in the Sunriver Half Marathon for a Cause can pick the distance they feel most comfortable with – Half Marathon (13 miles), 10K (just over six miles) or 5K (just over three miles). No matter which distance you choose, you’ll be running with friendly folks through lovely natural scenery. All races start in front of the Sunriver Resort Lodge and connect over to asphalt bike paths of Sunriver, returning to the finish line in back of the lodge on the Meadows Lawn. This year there will also be a kids dash. Check out the website for more details.
Outdoor City USA, a multi-sport event featuring biking, running, hiking, and climbing activities and competitions for all ages and abilities, is set to descend on Mt. Bachelor Sept. 13-15. This family-friendly event has something in store for all outdoor enthusiasts, supported by a variety of vendors and exhibitors showcasing the newest in outdoor equipment. In addition to cyclocross and mountain bike races, to skills clinics, to group rides, runs, hikes and climbs, Outdoor City USA will feature plenty of music, food, and beverages, and a signature Saturday evening mid-mountain party at Mt. Bachelor’s Pine Marten Lodge.
The Maupin Immersion and Ride-Row-Run kicks off Saturday at 4:00pm with an evening of fun and silliness. There are kids’ games, adult trike races that support the local school district, a BBQ dinner, beer tasting at Maupin Market, kids’ bike decoration and a bike parade. The evening finishes off with live music at Imperial River Company. Sunday a.m. begins with the RRR Grand Prix run. The Ride-Row-Run is a fantastically fun adventure. Do it as a solo, or get some friends together and enter a relay team. The day begins with the RRR Grand Prix start where participants will run to their bikes and RIDE a 26-mile loop, then ROW/PADDLE the Deschutes, then RUN along the river bank. It’s a real Central Oregon adventure with a finish party wrapping up the day! The community has many great activities to keep you entertained for the entire weekend — so come out and play! Camping is available at next to the start/finish. Fun for kids too!
