Why I love Mt. Bachelor – Olympic Skier Laurenne Ross

15 min read

Mt. Bachelor is one of the most family-friendly mountains in the West. But it has also long been a training ground for some of the best skiers in the United States with the terrain helping produce local Olmpians Tommy Ford, Kiki Cutter, Mike Lafferty and most recently, Laurenne Ross.

Ross is a four-discipline racer who finished 11th in the downhill at the Sochi Olympic Games and still currently competing on the World Cup circuit.

When Laurenne isn’t training on the hill or competing in World Cup races, she takes advantage of all that Central Oregon has to offer including mountain biking on our 400+ miles of singletrack and hiking/climbing at Smith Rock State Park.
