Gaining a Cosmic Perspective @ Worthy Brewing | Bend | Oregon | United States

Worthy Brewing brings you astronomy lecturer Scott Fisher with the University of Oregon.  He will reveal the wonders of the Universe during a lecture on “The Cosmic Perspective.” Using images and videos from observatories including the Hubble Space Telescope and the Pine Mountain Observatory, Scott will use an easy-to-grasp scale that relates us to the actual size of the Universe we inhabit. With that new perspective, he will lead a discussion of one of the most exciting recent discoveries in all of astronomy–the existence of Exoplanets, the 3,500 planets we have identified that are known to orbit stars other than the Sun.
ALL PROCEEDS GO TO SUPPORT Worthy Garden Club & Pine Mountain Observatory.
$40/Person – Registration Required, Appetizers and Beer Included.
Doors Open @ 5:30 pm Scott Fisher Lecture @ 6 pm Hopservatory Viewing & Brewery Tour @ 7 pm

Alex Drude has been "The Sports Dude" in Bend and Eugene for more than a decade. He also really enjoys exploring Central Oregon, so adding "The Travel Dude" to his resume also seemed like a good idea. He still does sports Thursday afternoons on 88.9 KPOV's "Central Oregon Sports Talk" from 5 to 6 pm, and writes at www.SporadicSentinel.com
