Our average tour is 3 hours, mileages and times vary; 20 to 120 Miles; 2 – 8 hours (see specific tours), and 16 and older to drive – Licensed with adult approval. Ouzel Outfitters has offered the finest whitewater rafting trips for families and charter groups since 1979. We offer 1/2- to three-day rafting adventures in Central Oregon on the McKenzie, Deschutes and North Umpqua Rivers. Transportation is included on all 1/2- and one-day McKenzie and Deschutes River trips. We also offer three- to five-day vacation length wilderness trips on Oregon’s Wild & Scenic Rogue, Central Oregon’s John Day, Eastern Oregon’s Owyhee and Idaho’s Lower Salmon River. Ouzel Guides Make all the Difference Few river companies put as many resources into training, retraining and certification of their guide staff. Guides new to Ouzel must complete a competitive application and training process (regardless of their previous experience). Once training is complete, a long period of “apprenticeship” is required before being qualified to work. Returning guides are required to attend a 5-day training program where skills are refreshed, company standards re-iterated and new policies and procedures are introduced. Our guide staff are an extremely loyal and tight-knit group of professionals. With little turnover each year Ouzel maintains a high level of experience, tradition and teamwork. Our guides know our rivers, our trips and most importantly, our guests.

The Owl’s Nest is Sunriver’s favorite bar where you can kick back and let loose, with incredible views, great drinks, and crave-worthy food. The bar features regional Pacific Northwest beers and wines, and classic cocktails complement pub bites. Our tavern offers gorgeous views of the golf course, pond, and magnificent Mt. Bachelor. Paintball Paradise in Bend, Oregon is the top outdoor paintball playground nestled off of Century Drive in the natural terrain of the Deschutes National Forest.  Come and play Capture the Flag – test your skills and that of your friends as you attempt to capture the other teams flag while protecting your own in the process. The Observatory consists of three telescopes that gaze out at the stars from atop a 6,300-foot-high ridge in the Oregon Badlands just 26 miles (but about an hour’s drive) east of Bend. The Observatory is open to the public. The educational experience begins at sunset as a tour-guide gives a presentation about basic astronomy and what astronomers do and how they do it – including how telescopes and digital CCD Cameras work. After dark, the guides show visitors objects through the various telescopes, CCD Cameras, and a pair of giant binoculars, and point out various objects of the night sky visible with naked eye. Some of the tour-guides set up their personal telescopes for guest viewing – some of the scopes are larger than the telescopes in the domes! Amateur astronomers are welcome to bring their own telescopes and binoculars as well. There is a primitive Forest Service campground nearby for folks to spend the night.
