Relay On Us

Cascade Relays is a small, family-run business with the mission to provide exceptional race experiences. There are lots of relays to choose from, but Cascade Relays races are different. We are a small, family-run business with the mission to provide exceptional race experiences, while supporting the communities we run through. We prioritize rural courses, local vendors & businesses, personal relationships and supporting local non-profits. You’ll get to know your Race Directors – Scott & Carrie Douglass – through communication throughout the year and out on the race course. Our staff and volunteers embody the spirit of our company – safety, fun and competition. Join the CLRG family!

About Cascade Relays

Cascade Relays is a small, family-run business based in Bend, Oregon.  Founders Scott and Carrie Douglass grew up in Bend, met in 6th grade and eventually married five days before the inaugural Cascade Lakes Relay in August 2008.  Working closely together, Scott & Carrie are focused on the Cascade Relays Family, including the loyal participants, dedicated staff and volunteers, and local communities that contribute to the success of Cascade Relays events.

Cascade Relays currently produces the Cascade Lakes Relay and The Beer Chase Series – with local one-day relays in Bend, San Diego, and Boulder.

What is the Bend Beer Chase?

One day, one van, six friends, twelve legs, 12-20 craft breweries hosting exchange points where runners sample their amazing craft. Seriously, what could be better? Join us for a Beer Chase near you, and let us know where you’d like to see Cascade Relays host the next Bend Beer Chase!

Community Giving

The Cascade Relays Foundation supports local non-profits, school groups, and community organizations in the communities our events travel through.  Cascade Relays has directly donated over $300,000 to local nonprofits and community groups since its founding in 2008.  In 2017, The Cascade Relays Foundation granted $65,000 to partnering charities.

Scott and Carrie Douglass, co-founders of Cascade Relays, announced the formation of the Cascade Relays Foundation in November 2016. The Foundation allows Cascade Relays to continue supporting nonprofits in the communities along its Cascade Lakes Relays, Bend Beer Chase, Centennial Beer Chase, and San Diego Beer Chase course routes.  Cascade Relays also provides pro-bono support and free equipment for several local nonprofit events throughout the year, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bend Thanksgiving I Like Pie run, The Ronald McDonald House Stronger Together Walk, and TEDxBend.

Ready to experience running as a team sport?

Join the Cascade Relays family, and Relay On Us

More than just a race…it’s a lifetime experience.
