Guided Adventure
The 7th Street Brew House is the incredible extension of Cascade Lakes beers by the locals in the city of Redmond. The Brewery had been in operation for about a year and the regulars wanted someplace to take their family and friends to eat. As a result, 7th Street was born. With a popular mug club membership to taco night, 7th Street has become the hometown favorite in Redmond. This is where people go to have a great tasting meal, a cold beer, and see good friends. In the summer, enjoy the indoor/outdoor atmosphere complete with garage doors that kick open, a fire pit to keep you warm during the brisk evenings and horseshoe pits.

Adventure Guru is a video-based adventure guide for everyone… EVERYONE. Whether you have a garage full of gear, or simply a pair of sneakers and a curious spirit, the goal is to get you outside. Nature is medicine, and the pharmacy is open.
“I noticed that it was really hard to find the best outdoor activities near me…” said founder, Shannon Enete. The solution involves quick, fun-inducing, videos that portray the terrain, accessibility, conditions and everything else from start to finish.
Shannon also noticed that outdoor recreation has a diversity problem. Most resources focus on the same narrow demographic, young elite athletes with the latest equipment in remote locations. What about everyone else? “I want people around the world to see themselves on my platform. Every size, color, age, sexuality, and ability (both cognitive and physical) will be represented on Adventure Guru.” One of the ways we will accomplish this is through the Regional Guru program (www.adventure-guru.org/joinus

A 125 mile long tributary of the Deschutes River which loops around Smith Rock State Park.
Featuring sandy beaches, swimming, boating, lakefront cabins and old growth pines, Cultus Lake has long been a summer seasonal favorite for fishing enthusiasts and campers alike. Formed by a glacier, these pristine mountain waters created a wonderful sanctuary for wildlife. In the early 19th Century, Cultus Lake was a highly sought destination for early explorers seeking to expand their trade in the fur trade industry. Today, it is home to rainbow trout, mackinaw and brook trout where patient anglers test their luck on shore or by boat, then trade stories by campfire light. Cultus Lake is on the Cascade Scenic Byway and a short drive from Bend, Sunriver and LaPine, Oregon.

This National Wild and Scenic designated river begins just south of Bend and ends its 252 mile journey as it empties into the Columbia River.
It’s the most fly casted on, biked along, hiked next to, tubed down, foot dipped in, wedding photographed in front of river in all of Oregon. The meandering waterway might cut back and forth across Central Oregon, but it also brings together the area more than any other natural wonder here. It can be nasty, rapid and awe-inspiring in one spot only to slow to a lazy, welcoming crawl just a mile or two down river. Amazing to look at, but more fun to play with, the Deschutes River is Central Oregon’s pride and joy. French for “River of the Falls”, during the period of fur trading, the Deschutes River winds through Sunriver, Bend, to the mighty Columbia.
Time on the water is worth a thousand fish. At Deschutes River Anglers, we’ve spent over 20 years finding them, and we’re eager to show you what we’ve learned. Come enjoy a Deschutes River Fly Fishing adventure with Bend Oregon Born Guide and Outfitter Cory Godell today.
The Lower Deschutes stretches 100 miles exactly, and with our experience we can show you how to fish every inch of it.
Central Oregon born and raised, Cory is working on his second decade of guiding the Deschutes. Cory spends the majority of his winters fishing and improving steelhead habitat working for the Oregon Fish and Wildlife’s Trout Creek Project. A self-described “dry-fly nut,” Cory has a nose for rising fish and a knack for finding new spots where trout like to take a deftly-placed fly.
When the Deschutes season finally winds down, Cory shifts gears and goes to work for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. So really it is back to the river. Spring and winter he operates the smolt and adult steelhead trap on Trout Creek and helps with redd counts. This on the ground habitat work helps the future of the Deschutes fishery and brings him full circle on his love and quest for steelhead knowledge. Call us today at Deschutes River Anglers 547-771-2288
The tailwater stretch of the Owyhee River can call for a multitude of tactics in the same day for 20+ inch Browns, let us show you what to use to coax them into the net!

Day & Multi-Day Trips
“The Fishing Gets Better As Soon As You Drop Below Trout Creek” It certainly does, how could the fishing not get better? The pressure drops by probably 90% once you row past the last boat ramp for 30 miles. Less pressure usually means very good things to the flyfisherman.
Even though the fishing is significantly better on Deschutes River Outfitters multi-day trips there are other reasons to go as well. Many clients have been so awestricken with the scenery and boat ride through the wildest stretch of the Deschutes they have asked me if I could take them and their spouse on just a float without the fly rods. I can’t do it…go past great fishing spots without sticking a fish or two would be just too hard on my heart.
Besides the great rock formations and the springs and waterfalls in the canyon there is a great boat ride. We go through one class IV rapid called Whitehorse and we go through two class III rapids on this float as well. The river is constantly moving. In fact, this stretch of river drops more gradient than the Colorado River does through the Grand Canyon.
The wildlife is also a calling card on this great trip. With deer, osprey, blue heron, geese, ducks, and golden eagles seen almost daily. We also see cougar, bear, and elk from time to time.
The wildlife, boat ride, and scenery are all great reasons to go on this trip but my favorite reason is the fishing. Because of the class IV rapid this takes out all but the best of oarsmen through this stretch of river. This naturally eliminates a bunch of competition.
The great part of booking a 3 or 4 day trip is that you fish your brains out if you wish. You can fish until dark and wake-up and start fishing again. Most of our clients choose to wait until after breakfast as their odds of catching fish go way up.
Guided Trout and Steelhead Fly Fishing Outfitter
A shallow lake with access from Century Drive featuring turquoise colored water and scenic views. While the fishing here isn’t going to produce any whoppers, casting a line for the rainbow and brook trout are made worthwhile thanks to the views alone.
The lake has a hike-in campground with 11 sites that’s a popular spot for folks to set up shop before hiking South Sister or embarking on any of the other hikes nearby.
One of two lakes that sit within the Newberry Crater stocked with sockeye salmon (Kokanee) and Atlantic salmon. One of Oregon’s most beautiful vacation destination spots
Recommended by TRIP ADVISOR, The Erickson Aircraft Collection proudly displays a vintage aircraft collection started by Jack Erickson in 1983. The collection features over twenty-five rare aircraft, most of which are still in flying condition, such as the P-38 Lightning, P-51 Mustang, Ki43 Hayabusa, F4U Corsair, SBD Dauntless, Grumman Duck, Me-109, FW-190, B-17 Flying Fortress and many more. The Erickson Aircraft Collection is the Pacific Northwest’s premier Flying Collection.
The museum features one of the top collection of vintage warbirds in the country and offers a ride/membership program called “Soaring with the Warbirds”. Take a ride in a WWII aircraft and experience history in flight. Our top-notch pilots fly you out over areas such as Lake Billy Chinook, up close and personal with Mt. Jefferson, Haystack Reservoir, Lake Simtustus, Smith Rock, or where ever you want to fly within our 20-minute time limit. In the air, you can experience the beauty of Central Oregon from a totally different perspective and have the experience of a lifetime.
Location
We are located at the Madras Municipal Airport on NW Berg Drive. To get to the hangar, take the NW Cherry Lane exit just off highway 26 and turn right on NW Berg. If you are navigating to the museum using Google Maps or other mapping services, just type in “Madras Municipal Airport” and follow NW Berg all the way down. In most cases, NW Airport Way has yet to be changed to NW Berg.
The roots of the Airshow of the Cascades started more than 30 years ago when pilot Ron Ochs held “fly-ins” at his ranch just north of Madras. One plane at a time and through homegrown hard work, the Airshow now draws upwards of 15,000 people.
With the help of our sponsors Willow Canyon Properties, Steve Forster/RE/MAX Out West Realty and the Airshow of the Cascades, we look to continue this spirit by taking a night to celebrate the many volunteers, businesses and members of the Central Oregon community that keep the tradition of aviation alive in Jefferson County.
COME SEE OUR WWII WARBIRDS
The Boeing Stearman PT-17 was typical of the biplane primary trainer used during the late 1930s and World War II and one of the most revered by pilots. Powered by a 240 hp seven-cylinder Continental engine, it was respected for its ruggedness, ease of maintenance, low operational costs, and flight characteristics. Challenging to an inexperienced pilot was its tendency to ground-loop in crosswinds. Over 10,000 were built for both the U.S. Army Air Force and the U.S. Navy and today many have found a new lease of life on the warbird circuit or serving as agricultural crop dusters and spraying aircraft.
SPECIFIC HISTORY
The aircraft on display is a typical Boeing PT-17, USAAF serial number 42-16242. This aircraft was purchased surplus from the U.S. Government in February 1946 for $770.00 by a commercial aviation company and used as a pilot trainer until it was sold in January 1955. Over the next 32 years, it would be bought and re-sold seven times before coming to the Museum’s collection in 1992.

Only one word can describe the experience that you will have at Fly & Field Outfitters . . . .Family. This dream of a family owned and operated fly shop began 20 years ago. The Cook family knew to surround themselves with, passionate, experienced, and above all honest folks that truly love what they do. This “family” attitude is entrenched in every aspect of the business. Whether you are an employee, beginner fly fisher, or a veteran angler, you will be made to feel right at home. So, come and experience it for yourself.
What began as a hunch, an idea, a casual conversation between friends or family: A guided fly-fishing trip in Oregon! And now here you are! So let’s take a minute to get an overview. First, please understand that you need zero equipment to go on a guided trip with us! We supply all the essentials; rod, reel, waders, and boots are included in the cost of every trip we offer. You just need a fishing license and some flies, all of which we can provide at our shop.
It is equally important to understand that you do not need to be an experienced angler to go on a guided trip with Fly & Field Outfitters. We specialize in taking out complete beginners and getting a bent rod in their hand! Here in Central Oregon, we are fortunate to have fly fishing opportunities for people who have quite literally never picked up a rod. Check out our page on the Crooked River. It is less than an hour from our shop and full of eager, native trout and whitefish. If you’ve never fished, this is most likely where we will go. Once there, you’ll realize why!
More experienced anglers might prefer a day on the Fall River for beautiful, difficult to fool spring creek rainbows and browns. Another wonderful option is a drift down the mighty and famous Lower Deschutes for the chunky and brutally strong native Redband rainbows. Our professional river guides are on these waters year ‘round and understand what it takes to connect with fish better than anyone in the business.
Fly & Field’s flagship Oregon Guided Fishing Trip is a multi-day Deschutes Camp adventure on the Lower Deschutes River. This is one of the ultimate fly-fishing experiences you’ll ever embark on. Our guides and “baggers” (they set up camps and prepare meals – basically pamper you to death!) are amongst the most experienced in the business. This is a trip of a lifetime and we work so hard to make sure you’ll remember it forever and yearn to do it again!
Within an hour’s drive from the shop, we have the Cascade Lakes that fish wonderfully from May through October. Depending on your skill level and aspirations, we can take you to a lake where you will have lots of opportunities to catch average-sized trout or a lake where you might encounter the biggest trout of your life! Our stillwater guides have comfortable, purpose-built boats for covering as much water as necessary…in style!
All of our guides are experienced Central Oregon fly fishing anglers. We pride ourselves on being patient, encouraging, and diligent. Each of our waters demands a different approach and we customize our tackle and techniques to ensure you have the best chances of fooling fish. After all, being there is great, hooking fish is even better! Our guides will work flat out from the first cast till last to make sure you have every opportunity available to have a bent rod in your hand and a smile on your face.
Take a few minutes to check out the variety of waters, all located within an hour of Bend, Oregon. We are sure you will find one to your liking. Then take a minute to call the shop at 1-866-800-2812 and let’s talk you through every possibility and every aspect of what your day with us will consist of.
Live the experience with Fly & Field Outfitters!

Giddy Up Bike Adventures in Redmond and Bend Oregon, was born out of a passion for not only cycling but also sharing our beautiful neck of the woods with people of all different skill levels. Having adventures on a bike is an excellent way to have recreation while being kind to our planet. Also, we find that people love seeing what they are capable of on a bike. They are often surprised both by how far they can go and where they can go, both physically and internally.
Bicycles are excellent tools for adventure and they help us be better versions of ourselves. Oh, and they are REALLY fun. We do mountain bike tours, gravel bike tours, bikepacking, and road bike tours. We go for as little as 3 hours to 3 days.
Bend has hundreds of miles of some of the best single track in the nation. From the higher elevations with cool breezes, meadows and fir trees down to the lower ponderosa forests, these trails have something for every skill level. Giddy Up Bike Adventures will customize your mountain bike tour to match your skill level and maximize safety and fun. Giddy Up!
This is an absolutely gorgeous ride so you may want to pack your good camera! We start by getting the big climb over with so we can fly down the switchbacks on the north side. This is a morning only ride since it’s the High Desert and the 900ft climb is mostly in the shade and the crowds of hikers are less. This ride can be done most of the year, even when Bend Trails are snowed out. 9:00 am start at the latest. Giddy Up!
This one is thought of by many, as the best mountain bike ride in America. We avoid the super technical portion and ride the lower section of dreamy, flowy, tacky, single track. Bring something to swim in, because there are wild hot springs which make for a great pit stop and snack break. Old growth forests and the beauty of the crazy blue McKenzie River. Call us today at Giddy Up Bike Adventures and let’s ride!
Because of the long commute, this is only offered as a full day ride. We will add in some photo ops at Shahalie Falls or Mt. Washington. Also, time permitting, we can do a short side trip to Tamolitch pool which will have your friends jealous of your Instagram. Giddy Up!
This is our personal favorite. Period. Why? How about over 4k feet of elevation drop? How about the Jedi Forest? How about hero dirt most of the trip? You will smell your disc breaks as they begin to burn and glow red hot as we zoom downhill through the perfect flow trail. And did I mention the views that will take your breath away? This one costs a little more and has a 2 person minimum but it is worth it!
TRIP INCLUDES:

We start, appropriately enough, at Basecamp Pizza in Terrebonne and go right through the heart of Smith Rock and up around Grey Butte. This 30-mile loop in Jefferson County begins and ends in downtown Madras, but it only takes riders one mile to get out of town and onto peaceful country roads through a rich agriculture area.
The views on this “moderately” strenuous ride are magnificent, with sweeping views of the Cascades, including Mount Hood and Three-Finger jack. You’ll enjoy smooth paved roads with some gravel areas overlooking Cove Palisades State Park and Lake Billy Chinook where wildlife sightings are common. You’ll pass through several small communities, including Culver and Metolius on roads featuring very little traffic. The area’s mild winter makes this a popular ride year round.
Travel Oregon (rideoregonride.com) calls this ride “without a doubt the most spectacular ride in Central Oregon.” dropping route dotted with the volcanoes that shaped the region’s landscape. Keep a look out for the abundant and diverse wildlife along the way, including bald eagles. Be prepared to take a day or two to partake in any of the number of recreation opportunities on the pass, including fly fishing the McKenzie River and mountain biking a trail system featured regularly in cycling publications worldwide.
Most of the ride is on a scenic byway that is closed during the winter months, but a bonus is that cyclists have access to the road in the spring as the snow melts and before cars are allowed.
The ride is classified as “challenging,” but the out and back is definitely doable in one day.
One frequent fisherman on the Metolius River may have summed it up best, calling it “The Last Great Place.”
This tributary of the Deschutes River flows north from it’s natural springs origins near Black Butte and is a fly fishing only, all catch and release river. It might be harder to tell which has it better here, the rainbow, brown and bull trout that thrive in the clear, cold waters or the anglers who call this one of the best places on Earth to cast a fly. Several lodges along the river and nearby fly shops have everything you need to enjoy one of Central Oregon’s jewels.

A volcanic attraction covering over 500 square miles beginning just south of Bend and extending to just south of Sunriver and east of LaPine. Managed by the U.S. Forest Service, this monument provides a unique opportunity to view the Lava Lands of central Oregon. It’s called a “monument,” but it’s actually a 50,000 acre region of natural wonders including lakes, lava flows and other geologic features unique to our region. Paulina Peak stretches nearly 8,000 feet above sea level and a hike to the top give you a birds-eye view across the High Desert.
Hidden in plain sight, Oregon’s massive Newberry Volcano is the largest volcano in the Cascades volcanic arc and covers an area the size of Rhode Island. Unlike familary cone-shaped Cascades volcanoes, Newberry was built into the shape of a broad shield by repeated eruptions over 400,000 years. About 75,000 years ago a major explosion and collapse event created a large volcanic depression (caldera) at its summit. Newberry last erupted about 1,300 years ago, and present-day hot springs and geologically young lava flows indicate that is could reawaken at any time. Because of its proximity to nearby communities of LaPine, Sunriver and Bend Oregon, frequency and size of past eruptions, and geologic youthfulness, U.S. Geological Survey scientists are working to better understand volcanic activity at Newberry and closely monitor the volcano for signs of unrest.
In November of 1990, Newberry National Volcanic Monument was created within the boundaries of Deschutes National Forest. Managed by the U.S. Forest Service, this monument provides a unique opportunity to view the Lava Lands of central Oregon.Newberry National Volcanic National Monument includes 50,000+ acres of lakes, lava flows, and spectacular geologic features in central Oregon. The highest point within the Monument is the summit Paulina Peak (7,985 ft.), showcasing views of the Oregon Cascades and across the High Desert.
It is hard to fathom as you drive through the summit area that you are within a 17 square mile caldera at the summit of a 500 square mile volcano, a volcano that remains very active to this day. Newberry is both seismically and geothermally active. Geologists believe the caldera sits over a shallow magma body only 2 to 5 kilometers deep. Visitors see numerous cinder cones (over 400 throughout the area), miles of basalt flows, as well as rhyolite flows of obsidian.
Lava Lands Visitor Center is the interpretive hub of Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Friendly rangers will help orient you to the Monument using our new 3D topographic map.Visit our state of the art interpretive exhibit on area geologic and cultural history, shop in the Discover Your Northwest Bookstore, view a variety of films scheduled daily, walk the Trail of the Molten Lands and the Trail of the Whispering Pines, picnic under the pines, attend a ranger talk, drive to the top of Lava Butte for a spectacular view of Central Oregon.

Ochoco Brewing Company is a venture born out of desire and passion for community and quality of life mixed with just the right amount of handcrafted beer and fresh, locally produced food. Born from desire, passion and a thirsty home brewer, Ochoco Brewing Company is proud to be amongst a community of industrial athletes, cattlemen, contractors, tire slingers, and server technicians. Real People, Real Beer.
The dream was birthed from a simple vision: “Love God, Work Hard, Drink Beer. If we do these things well, we will surely love our neighbors as ourselves.” The brewery evolved out of basement home-brewing experiments in the early 2000’s. With financial funding and lot of hard work from friends and family, Ochoco Brewing Company opened its doors as a pub in Prineville in 2011 as Solstice Brewing Company. It took a little time to get the brewhouse completed, but in 2012 it finally came together. The original 7bbl brewery was crammed into an 800-square foot space with used pieces of equipment purchased from Terminal Gravity Brewing and Double Mountain Brewing here in Oregon. Although it’s not the fanciest brew system, it’s the same one that still brews our delicious beers today.
Although craft breweries are popping up everywhere, we believe in what Ochoco Brewing Company uniquely offers, and over the last few years, much of the original vision has taken hold. It is an environment where people can gather around good beer and food, and often live music, to converse and celebrate life, as well as journey together. Through the use of local meats, breads, dairy products and vegetables, our menu has flourished along with our beer. The life and activities in our restaurant reflect the needs and identity of our local community. Today our brewing facility daily delivers beer to the pub, as well as other establishments throughout Central Oregon, and both pub and brewery are an integral part of bringing delicious beer and food to Prineville.

Ouzel Guides Make all the Difference
Few river companies put as many resources into training, retraining and certification of their guide staff. Guides new to Ouzel must complete a competitive application and training process (regardless of their previous experience). Once training is complete, a long period of “apprenticeship” is required before being qualified to work. Returning guides are required to attend a 5-day training program where skills are refreshed, company standards re-iterated and new policies and procedures are introduced. Our guide staff are an extremely loyal and tight-knit group of professionals. With little turnover each year Ouzel maintains a high level of experience, tradition and teamwork. Our guides know our rivers, our trips and most importantly, our guests.
Oregon’s finest whitewater adventures since 1979
Paulina Lake is one of the twin crater lakes in the Newberry Caldera and is open year round. It’s located within the caldera of Newberry Volcano, about 25 miles south of Bend.
The caldera is what’s left after more than 500,000 years of volcanic activity. And unlike most lakes, neither Paulina or East lakes get any water from streams – they’re filled strictly with rain, snowmelt and hot springs. Paulina Lake is about 1,500 acres in size and averages 163 feet deep. But at its deepest point, this popular destination plunges to 250 feet deep. Motorized and non motorized boats are allowed here.
The Paulina Plunge Downhill Waterfall Mt. Bike Tour is a wet and wild family adventure for all ages from 4 to 70. We will descend over six miles down a smooth forest trail, where our friendly guides will lead you to six pristine waterfalls and two natural water slides.
Gravity will be your friend as you descend deep into the Oregon back country, on your Fat Tire Mt.Bike. Only here will you discover the grandeur of the Paulina Mountains and the secrets of Chief Paulina’s water slide. Along the way you will learn the legends of the ancient indigenous people and the saga of Chief Paulina. During the length of the trip you will descend over 2,000 vertical feet, on your Fat Bike. That translates into four 1-1/2 mile downhill biking segments to each waterfall stop. The group will visit up to six pristine waterfalls ranging in height from 10 to 40 feet, including two safe natural water slides to explore and play on. Two short energetic nature hikes, at a distance of half mile each, will be required to reach the bubbling falls and slides below. This safe fun family excursion is suitable for all active ages 4 to 70 years young with confident beginner to intermediate biking skills. Trail-A-Bike Tandems for non-riding kids 4 to 8 years are available.
Learn the legends of Chief Paulina as you travel in his footsteps. Our guides will share their knowledge of the local history and geology as you travel to the waterfalls. Exploring this natural water park will be the highlight of your Central Oregon vacation. You’ll have the time of your life!
We provide mountain bikes, helmets and a day pack for each family or group. You’re welcome to bring your own lunch or purchase one from our staff.

Scenic beauty, camping and water recreation at its finest in the High Desert when you stay at the Prineville Reservoir State Park. Mountain waters flowing out of the Ochoco Mountain Range join to form the Crooked River. The river, confined by its canyon and the Bowman Dam, forms the 15-mile long, 3,000-acre Prineville Reservoir State Park. With two developed campgrounds and numerous primitive camps along its 43-mile shoreline, recreational opportunities are plentiful.
The fishing can be good anytime at Prineville Reservoir State Park. The lake supports rainbow trout, small and largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and crayfish. The trout fishing experience is year-round, with the biggest fish being caught during the winter months either by boat or from the shore. The bass, catfish and crappie fishing is best between May and October.
Other recreational activities include waterskiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, star gazing and wildlife viewing.
There are numerous year round camping opportunities within the state park on the reservoir. In the developed areas there are deluxe cabins with full amenities, full hook up RV sites and tent sites. Flush toilets and hot showers are also available. For those who like to rough it, there are many primitive drive in and boat in campsites around the reservoir as well.
This oasis in the High Desert is waiting for you so come out and enjoy the fun!

Universal Access
Two campsites and two cabins are accessible to campers with disabilities.
As part of the Crooked River Federal Reclamation Project, the Department of the Interior authorized the construction of Bowman Dam between 1958 and 1961. The project’s purpose was to furnish water for irrigation, flood control and fish and wildlife management. Through the Crook County Court, and a lease from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the land for the park was obtained in 1961. A lease agreement between the Bureau of Reclamation and the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department allows the State to manage and maintain the natural resources and recreational uses on the reservoir.
