Twilight Talks: Bejeweled Pollinators - Hummingbirds

June’s Twilight Talk explores the remarkable world of hummingbirds in Central Oregon, tiny birds with huge lives. We will introduce you to the species most observed in our region, including the Rufous Hummingbird and Calliope Hummingbird, highlighting their migration routes, breeding behaviors, and specialized adaptations. We will also talk about their critical role as pollinators, particularly for native flowering plants, which can be adapted specifically for hummingbird pollination.
