Just five minutes south of downtown Redmond and less than 30 minutes north of Bend, Redmond Municipal Airport is the region’s largest airport and is likely where you’ll fly into when arriving in Central Oregon.

Also known as Roberts Field, the airport—referred to colloquially as RDM, its three-letter IATA code—is served by five carriers (including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines), with more than two-dozen daily commercial flights to destinations throughout the American West and Southwest. The terminal itself is home to a pub that dishes fresh food and local craft beer, a nursing room, children’s play areas, and other amenities for travelers from all walks of life.

Trips can be booked in advance for groups of up to six—and it’s only a short walk to the designated (well-marked) rideshare area at the western edge of the airport’s lone terminal. A one-way Lyft or Uber shared ride to the Bend area may run $30-65, while rides around Redmond are likely to cost $10-$15; fares may depend on a variety of factors, including driver availability and time of day, and may be a little lower or slightly higher than what’s mentioned here.

Enviro Shuttle is a popular service that uses electric and hybrid vehicles for shuttle services and rideshare arrangements. Vehicles can fit up to six people, and cities serviced via shuttle include Bend ($40-75 per one-way fare), Sunriver ($70-100), and Sisters ($45-$70). Note that rates vary by the type of vehicle, direction of the ride, and where in the city a ride begins or ends; all fares are approximate. Those who share their ride can save $15 if Enviro Shuttle is able to find another passenger for the same ride.

Destination Transportation is another popular company that offers private car service and airport shuttles—the latter of which typically runs $55 for rides to and from Bend, and $80 for rides to and from Sunriver; luxury car service is also available and should be scheduled in advance.

Shuttle Oregon, meanwhile, promises private reservations with guaranteed pick-up—even in the event of delayed or rescheduled flights; fares start at $50 for the Bend area. The Shuttle Oregon fleet includes vehicles of various sizes to accommodate groups of all sizes and luggage needs.
