Ceramic Teacup & Saucer 

Join Shelly Phillips for this exciting pottery workshop where participants will craft beautiful teacups and saucers while gaining a deeper appreciation for the art of ceramics.

In this engaging two-part class, participants will embark on a creative journey to design and craft their very own teacup and saucer using high-quality ceramic clay. This hands-on experience is perfect as it provides an opportunity to explore the fundamentals of ceramic creation while unleashing your artistic potential.

On the first day of our workshop, we will gather to begin the exciting process of shaping our teacups and saucers. Participants will learn essential techniques for hand-building with clay. Under the guidance of our skilled instructor, you will have the chance to mold the clay into the desired forms, paying attention to details such as the size, shape, and comfort of the handle on your teacup. This day will not only focus on the technical aspects of pottery but also encourage creativity and personal expression, allowing each participant to infuse their unique style into their work.

The second session, scheduled for September 29th from 10 AM to 11 AM, will be dedicated to the art of decoration. After allowing time for your teacups and saucers to dry, we will dive into the vibrant world of underglaze. This is an exciting opportunity to personalize your creations with colors, patterns, and designs that reflect your individual taste, learning how to apply underglaze effectively.

After you have completed the decorating process, your teacups and saucers will undergo a final firing, where they will be transformed into beautiful, functional pieces of art. A week later, you will have the opportunity to return to TEAL to pick up your finished creations. This moment will be rewarding, as you will see the results of your hard work, creativity, and the skills you have developed throughout the class.
