Perseids Meteor Shower: Canoe Tour

ABOUT THE TOUR

Adventure: Join us on a high alpine lake for a night of celestial wonder! Far from any city lights, there will be minimal light pollution, allowing the Perseids meteor shower to truly shine! The astronomical forecast for each night indicates we will have good visibility of the meteor shower during our time on the water.

Naturalist Guided Experience:
We will journey up to the high elevation lakes in the Cascade Mountains. As the last of the sun’s light disappears behind the mighty Cascades and the moon still sitting below the horizon, we will push out into the water. During the journey, your naturalist guide will highlight the stunning geography, flora, and fauna of the area. They may impart an understanding of the heaven’s starlight illuminating the night sky. Age-old stories and myths mixed with astronomy will enlighten just as the stars and moon do!
