Forget what you think a camera can do. This fall, Sunriver’s Nancy McGrath Green Gallery presents a carefully curated photography exhibition featuring seven Central Oregon photographers with wildly diverse perspectives in their work.
Photography: Seven Points of View showcases familiar favorites alongside unexpected approaches to photography. Each photographer presents a specific genre. Steve Peters’ Living Large series features 1/64-scale figures interacting with everyday objects. Big cats and predators are the focus of Michael Thornton’s wildlife photography.
Closer to home, Sunriver-based photographer Paul Evenson captures the wildlife, landscapes and natural beauty of Central Oregon. Sue Dougherty returns to the gallery with “a photographic sample of the lives of our winged neighbors.”
Blanche Feekes captures the raw beauty of earth’s elements in her landscape photography. The western photographs of Joel Bailie, depicted in black and white, are strongly influenced by Ansel Adams and Edward Weston.
This year’s photography exhibition is curated by John A. Stewart of Bend. In his abstract images on display, Stewart searches for something that has never been seen. “Combining images in Photoshop is a celebratory process,” he says. “I never know what magic will occur.”
Join the artists for light refreshments and lively discussion at the opening reception on Sunday, October 4 from 11:15 a.m – 12:30 p.m.
Photography: Seven Points of View runs through January 3, 2027. Nancy McGrath Green Gallery is open weekdays, 1 – 4 p.m. and directly after church service on Sundays. 18139 Cottonwood Road in Sunriver (inside Sunriver Christian Fellowship).
