Central Oregon Mountain Bike Trail Guide
The Central Oregon mountain bike scene is 300 miles of diverse singletrack through high alpine forests and sagebrush dotted deserts from Madras to La Pine, Sisters to Prineville. Bulletin newspaper reporter Mark Morical has ridden just about every one of the trails you’ll find on any mountain bike trail map – and he’s written about his experience.
Mark is a more-than-casual mountain biker but his honest perspective is perfect information for those who might be putting their legs over a frame for the first time. Some of the stories even include videos so you can get a cyclist-eye-view of what to expect out on the trail. You can check out his Central Oregon Mountain Bike Trail Guide here.
If you’re looking for more info, contact Cog Wild Mountain Bike Tours and Shuttle – they can take you directly to some of the trailheads listed below. You can also get some good scoops on trails from the folks at The Hub Cyclery in Downtown Bend, Pine Mountain Sports, Central Oregon Hutch’s Bicycle locations and the Good Bike Co. in Prineville. If you forgot your bike – both those shops rent some great rides as well.
*Note the varying seasons the trails were ridden/written about. Mentions of snow or trail closures may or may not coincide with current trail conditions.
