“Sunriver Resort is a great choice if you want a relaxing getaway in Central Oregon. I stayed in May, and the setting was beautiful, with snowy pines, mountain views, and a cozy, rustic lodge feel. The resort is peaceful but has plenty to do, including a spa, dining on site, and Mt. Bachelor close by for skiing. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were comfortable. I was hosted by the resort and the inimitable JoAnna Eisler, Director, Business Development for the CVB, Central Oregon.

A highlight of the trip was visiting the last Blockbuster on the planet, in nearby Bend. Walking into an actual video rental store again was unbelievable and so much fun. The Bend Blockbuster is still open, and it became the last Blockbuster in the United States in 2018, and in 2019 it became the last remaining store in the world using the Blockbuster brand, operating as an independently owned franchise.

I’d happily go back and would recommend Sunriver to anyone looking for a restful mountain escape with a little nostalgia on the side.”
