Sunriver Resort Stay and Play Golf Packages

Central Oregon is known for its outstanding golf destinations—we call it the Central Oregon Golf Trail—but none have stood out for as long as Sunriver Resort. Set among a forest of ponderosa pines, the pioneering and popular resort features four highly acclaimed golf courses for golfers of all skill levels. And the views of the snow-capped Cascade Range just beyond the treetops always leave quite an impression.

Sunriver Resort’s three championship golf courses have tested some of the best players on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, USGA, and NCAA, while its award-winning and beloved short course and 18-hole putting course ensure that golf at Sunriver Resort is fun for all. Thankfully for golfers, Sunriver Resort also offers numerous stay-and-play packages for those who want to improve their swing, relax with friends, soak in the scenery, or simply walk in the footsteps of golf champions. Here’s a look at what makes the resort so special—and its offerings so enticing:

Award-Winning Golf Courses

Sunriver Resort’s four golf courses, and its 18-hole putting course, offer distinct golf experiences, all designed by some of the most famous golf architects in the world. Best yet, they are all accessible to Sunriver Resort’s overnight guests. And Sunriver Resort’s Unlimited Golf Stay & Play Package makes the deal even sweeter. Here’s a bit more about what to expect at each course:

Crosswater: The crown jewel of Sunriver Resort, Crosswater is accustomed to lofty awards. It was named Golf Digest’s Best New Resort Course of 1995 and has been a mainstay on the magazine’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses since the beginning. Architect Bob Cupp Jr. spread Crosswater across more than 600 acres of forest and meadow. True to its name, the routing crisscrosses the Deschutes and Little Deschutes rivers, frequently bringing both into play. And the views of Mt. Bachelor are spectacular. A past host of USGA and NCAA championships, as well as a major on the Champions Tour, Crosswater is a quintessential Central Oregon golf experience.

Woodlands: Famed architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. ushered in an era of big-name golf designers plying their craft in Central Oregon when he carved the Woodlands course from Sunriver’s ponderosa pine forest. Woodlands incorporates its stunning natural surroundings into the action, without being overly punitive as it twists and turns around numerous water features, lava rock, and pines. And the bentgrass greens, which were renovated in 2024, roll as well as any in Central Oregon.

Meadows: When architect John Fought renovated the venerable Meadows course in 1999, he took his inspiration from the “Golden Era” of American golf design of the 1920s and 30s. The fairways are forgiving, but sloping greens, water, and striking bunkers offer enough resistance that Meadows has hosted numerous NCAA and professional championships over the years. Rest assured, though, the spectacular views of the Cascade Range and frequent visits from native wildlife will take the edge off any wayward shot.

Caldera Links: Designed by Bob Cupp Jr. and longtime Sunriver Resort agronomist Jim Ramey, the nine-hole, beginner-friendly Caldera Links is a favorite golf experience. The design is reminiscent of Crosswater, but its nine holes range from just 60 to 185 yards in length. That makes Caldera Links perfectly suited to families and those learning the game. The views of the snow-capped summit of Mt. Bachelor, especially from holes No. 3 and 4,  make the experience all the better.

Gray’s Trail: This 18-hole putting course makes for a great way to spend a summer afternoon with family or friends. Set just steps away from Sunriver’s Main Lodge and the first tee of the Meadows Course—a hub of activity at the resort—Gray’s Trail offers fun that can be shared with every generation of the family in a gorgeous outdoor setting.

If you have trouble deciding, enlist help from Sunriver’s two golf packages; the Resort Golf Package includes play on the Meadows and Woodlands courses, while the Unlimited Stay & Play Package includes play on all four courses.
