Birding By Ear

December’s Twilight Talk will invite you to experience birding in a whole new way, by closing your eyes. This lecture will introduce you to the fundamentals of identifying birds by sound. Getting even the basics of this skill will take your birding adventures to a whole new level as vocalizations can reveal species identity and the presence or absence of their song can be indicative of habitat health. Just in time for the Christmas Bird Count, you can take your new listening abilities into the Count.
