Joel Chadd & Sturtz

The OAC Music Series presents Joel Chadd, a Bend, Oregon–based folk Americana songwriter whose music lives in the space between quiet reflection and shared experience. Rooted in thoughtful storytelling and warm, melodic arrangements, his songs invite listeners to slow down, lean in, and recognize themselves somewhere in the lines.

NPR’S ALL SONGS CONSIDERED DESCRIBED STURTZ AS “A REASSURING BREATH OF FRESH AIR THAT PULLS ME BACK TO SIMPLER TIMES." The group is serene and folksy, with melodic vocals soaring over the lower string instrumentals. Sturtz released their second studio album Hyacinth in September 2024, and they're hard at work writing songs for their next album now. When they’re not playing music, you’ll probably find the members of Sturtz milling flour, gardening, roasting coffee, or honing in on their photography skills.
