Black Butte in Sisters Oregon
Credit: Kirt EdblomBlack Butte is an extinct stratovolcano that, despite its appearance, is significantly older than the nearby Mount Washington. The butte is located about 5.5 miles west of Sisters in the Deschutes National Forest. Its cider cone stands 6,436 feet tall.
The butte is off the McKenzie Pass-Santiam Pass Scenic Byway.
