About Terrebonne

To most visitors, the community of Terrebonne—situated between Redmond and Madras along US-97—is synonymous with nearby Smith Rock State Park. Just northeast of town, the park is known worldwide for its rock climbing routes, scenic hiking trails, striking geological wonders, peaceful landscapes, and quaint campground.

But there’s more to discover in and around Terrebonne (which means “good earth” in French—an apt description). Hot air balloon excursions, horseback outings, seasonal events, and thoughtfully prepared meals all await those willing to slow down and wander.
