Fall Colors Hike

Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Mary Crow to explore the fall colors at Rimrock Ranch, a spectacular private ranch near Sisters. See unique rock formations, walk along the banks of the willow and cottonwood lined creek turned gold for the season, and learn about the ranch’s ecology and conservation. Find out how the Land Trust is working to restore Whychus Creek, and the future plans for Rimrock Ranch. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event.

Hike Rating: This is a challenging 3-4 mile hike on dirt roads and through grassy meadows.

Route: This hike will start at the canyon rim and then follow dirt roads along the canyon rim and into the Whychus Creek canyon. We will also venture off-trail into the meadow. Terrain will be uneven at times.

Elevation gain/loss: This hike is challenging with ~200′ of elevation gain/loss.
