Fort Rock Cave is near Fort Rock State Natural Area. It is the site of instrumental archaeological discoveries dating back over 10,000 years. The Fort Rock Basin is a vital part of Native American history and life.  Fort Rock Cave is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public only by a state park guided tour. Join us in learning about Fort Rock Cave’s lasting legacy! Tour Info: Tours begin at Fort Rock State Natural Area. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to tour start time. From there, tour participants will be shuttled in a van to the cave site. Be Prepared: Fort Rock Cave is a remote area and you will be required to travel at least ¾ mile on uneven, dusty terrain. Weather is usually hot and windy in the summer. Bring water and dress weather appropriate. Sun protection highly recommended. No Pets Allowed
