University of Oregon brings an exciting new lecture plus field trip series to Central Oregon.  “Geology of Central Oregon” is part lecture, part field trip that explores the geologic history of the Newberry Caldera with volcanologist Dr. Daniele McKay.  This two-day course starts on Friday, October 12, with an evening introduction to the geology of volcanoes.  Saturday will be spent in the field investigating recent volcanic deposits and the impacts that volcanoes have had in shaping the landscapes and culture of Central Oregon.

Lecture – Friday 10/12:   6:00-8:00pm        Saturday 10/13:  9:00am-5:00pm

This new lecture series is part of UO’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.  The UO Bend Center is located in the Duck Store in Bend.
