History Pub

McMenamins invites you to the first History Pub of 2019.  January’s topic is: “Wallace Stegner; Wise Man of the American West”.  Richard Etulian will present.  He is a specialist in the history and literature of the American West and professor emeritus at the University of New Mexico.  He is the author or editor of more than 50 books.

What is it about Wallace Stegner that makes us think of him as our Western Wise Man.  This slide-illustrated presentation will deal with Stegner’s major contributions and will raise probing questions about his career as westerner, public intellectual, and wilderness defender.
