Rising American composer Matthew Aucoin brings a captivating new take on the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus - who attempts to haness the power of music to rescue his beloved from the underworld - to the Met. Featuring a liberto by MacArthur "Genius Grant" recipient Sara Ruhl, the opera reimagines the familiar tale from Eurydice's point of view. Met Music Director Yannick Nezet-Seguin conducts an immense new staging.
