Insects and other invertebrates serve a critical role across global ecosystems. Invertebrates pollinate plants, control pests, cycle nutrients and provide food for other species. The application of pesticides, however, not only kills unwanted plants and pests but also harms beneficial invertebrates caught in the crosshairs. Please join Dr. Aaron Anderson, pesticide program specialist at the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, to learn about the risks pesticides pose to invertebrates and strategies to reduce our reliance on these chemicals. 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Doors open at 5:30 pm FREE McMenamins Old St. Francis School 700 NW Bond St., Bend RSVP: highdesertmuseum.org/natural-history-pub-nov
