Artist-Led Nature Journaling Workshop! Some of our most cherished naturalist texts arose from the centuries-old method of “Nature Journaling”. The journey of Lewis and Clark, Darwin’s discoveries aboard the HSM Beagle, and John James Audubon’s brilliant attempts to paint every species of bird in North America are all classic examples of Nature Journals that fundamentally shaped our understanding of the world around us. Modern-day Nature Journaling is a re-envisioned practice refined through our current understanding of neuroscience, learning, and deliberate practice. Nature Journaling will enrich your observational experiences and help you gain new artistic skills. This spring break join Christine Elder, a lifelong naturalist, artist, and educator to observe and document the subtle signs of a new season. This program will take place at Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory and will give you a special tour of Central Oregon’s only botanic garden. Everything you need to create stunning works of art will be included and the lessons you learn will last a lifetime. This a great event for families or adults.
