Ochoco Preserve Tour

Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Michelle McSwain for an early summer tour of Ochoco Preserve. The Land Trust started a major project in 2022 to shape the future of Ochoco Preserve! Phase II of the restoration will begin in 2024. Learn more about the Preserve and the Land Trust’s vision for healthy streams, flourishing native plants and wildlife, and new connections for the community. Ochoco Preserve is home to 1 mile of McKay Creek, 1/2 mile of Ochoco Creek, and a host of wildlife species including salmon and steelhead, frogs and toads, and many species of water birds and songbirds. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event. Hike Rating: This is an easy ~1-2 mile hike on either paved and gravel trails, or old roads and through grassy fields.
