The Stinkfoot Orchestra: A Frank Zappa Tribute featuring Zappa-alum Napoleon Murphy Rock
Parallel 44 Presents is extremely proud and excited to present THE STINKFOOT ORCHESTRA - TRIBUTE TO FRANK ZAPPA, featuring Zappa-alum Napoleon Murphy Brock and a 14 piece band devoted to celebrating the music of Frank Zappa, on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Volcanic Theatre Pub. Doors open at 8:30PM and the show starts at 9PM and features two lengthy sets. No support. All Ages are welcome. No refunds.
About THE STINKFOOT ORCHESTRA - TRIBUTE TO FRANK ZAPPA: Incorporating a 6-piece horn section, tuned percussion and 5 vocalists, this 15-piece ensemble pulls no punches - delivering Frank's music with power, authenticity and musical prowess. Founded by 35-year veteran of the SF Bay Area music scene, Nick Chargin, the Stinkfoot Orchestra has spent the last 4 years honing their craft and are finally taking their long-awaited show to the stage.
About Napoleon Murphy Brock:
Frank Zappa discovered Napoleon Murphy Brock in a Hawaiian nightclub leading a top 40 soul band. After that, Napoleon Murphy Brock played in Frank Zappa's band for a number of years. "Napi" provided vocal, sax, flute, and/or keyboards to Apostrophe ('), Roxy & Elsewhere, One Size Fits All, Bongo Fury, Zoot Allures, Sleep Dirt, Sheik Yerbouti, Them Or Us, Thing-Fish, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 1, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 2, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 3, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 4, You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 6, Frank Zappa Plays The Music Of Frank Zappa, FZ:OZ, Quaudiophiliac, and on the Beat The Boots disk Unmitigated Audacity (BTB). His performance can be seen on the Zappa movies "Baby Snakes" (in the background), The Dub Room Special, The Amazing Mr. Bickford (in the background), and The True Story Of 200 Motels.
