This summer at The Suttle Lodge & Boathouse, we’re inviting folks to come sit, relax and learn from the wineries featured on our year-round wine list. Each glass will be paired with a unique array of small-plates from our chef, using seasonal ingredients to compliment each wine. ABOUT BRICK HOUSE WINES

Thirty years ago we cleared an old filbert orchard on the east side of a place called Ribbon Ridge and began planting the first ten acres of our vineyard. It didn’t even have a name at first, but a 1928 vintage brick farmhouse dominated the heart of the property. It wasn’t long before the vineyard workers were asking their boss where to work in the morning and were told to go to “casa de ladrillo”…the vineyard at the ‘brick house’.

It stuck. So today Brick House Vineyards is thirty acres of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gamay Noir; the varieties of Burgundy growing above the north Willamette Valley from a perch 440 feet above the valley floor. We like to say we’ve farmed “in harmony with nature” for all that time, having certified the entire farm for organic production in 1990 and qualifying for the rigorous Demeter Biodynamic® certification in 2005.

Today, all our wines are grown within the deer fence surrounding our farm. They are produced and bottled by hand in what was once the farm’s horse barn. We strive to create the most natural wines possible from this unique place…wines that couldn’t be produced anywhere else but here. We call the Brick House home …and hope you savor each and every wine we’ve created here.
