About Oregon Ski Guides

Oregon Ski Guides is a division of Timberline Mountain Guides, Inc. that focuses on ski trips, instructional courses, and guided ski descents of peaks in Oregon and Washington. We are based in Bend, Oregon and we have been a Central Oregon company since 1983.

All of our Oregon Ski Guides have received American Mountain Guides Association training. We take pride in our programs and hope you will come join us for a ski trip this season. From mid-winter powder ski below treeline to skiing off volcanic summits in the summer, our trips span the full continuum of the ski experience.

Are you ready to go beyond the lifts and resorts? Oregon Ski Guides offers an Introduction to Backcountry Skiing. This two-day course will get you started learning the techniques of backcountry ski and splitboard touring. You’ll learn how the gear works and how to use it effectively. We’ll strive for saving energy on the uphill and having fun on the downhill while always focusing on sound decision making. Suitable for intermediate to advanced in-bounds skiers comfortable in changing snow conditions.

Broken Top Ski Mountaineering – Broken Top offers numerous lines to both climb and then ski, and its right in our backyard! This seldom visited peak in the Central Oregon Cascades is an incredible classroom for both mountaineering and skiing skills. During this three-day camp, we’ll focus on technical solutions to access difficult terrain such as chutes and big mountain faces. Mountaineering topics will include crampon and ice axe techniques, rope skills, building anchors, pitched snow climbing, belaying and rappelling. Previous ski touring experience is required. Previous mountaineering experience is not required.
