About Smith Rock Climbing School
Smith Rock Climbing School is the oldest guide service at Smith Rock State Park. We cater to everyone from families trying something new, to experienced climbers eager to push their limits and learn new skills. We are based in Bend, in the heart of Oregon’s high desert, where sunshine is the rule. Three hundred sunny days is only one of the reasons that Smith Rock is the most iconic sport-climbing area in the US.
Ideal in Spring and Fall conditions, Smith Rock Climbing School guides know every shady summer crag, and every sunny winter wall. Smith Rock Climbing School guides are proud to be accredited by the American Mountain Guides Association and have a core group of Certified Rock Guides who instruct technique, movement, technical skills, and of course guide all levels of climbers up on the classic routes at Smith Rock.
