Three friends enjoying their wine

Va Piano Vineyards Tasting Room

A fourth generation Walla Wallan, Justin Wylie became fascinated with the blossoming wine industry literally sprouting up in his backyard. Inspired, he started making wine in his garage, learning from local winemakers, growers, and aficionados. Justin soon found his palate and his hobby turned into a passion. With encouragement from friends and family, Justin began his first commercial crush in the fall of 2003 and Va Piano Vineyards was born. Va Piano Vineyards specializes in Cabernet Sauvignons and Syrahs but also makes the occasional Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Bordeaux Blend. For the white wine drinkers, we also offer a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and a season Rose. Bend, Oregon has long been a favorite vacation spot for the Wylie family, so we thought it was only natural to open an extension of Va Piano Vineyards in one of our favorite towns! Bend’s popularity as both a place to live and a destination for visitors made it the perfect place for us to share our wines with a larger audience. The Old Mill District is set on the riverfront and has become the premiere shopping and entertainment venue for both locals and tourists!Visit our Va Piano Vineyards Bend Tasting Room in the Old Mill, for tasting flights, wine by the glass, wine by the bottle and beer/cider on tap. In sourcing the fruit that goes into Va Piano wines, we take full advantage of the unique terroirs that abound on the leeward side of the Cascade Mountains, including our expanding estate growing program in the Octave, Va Piano, and Eritage vineyards. These vineyards provide a vast palette from which to craft our fine wines. The vineyard blocks are trellised on the vertical shoot positioning system (VSP), and are farmed using sustainable agricultural methods. By farming responsibly, we will ensure that Va Piano Vineyards will continue to be a premium vineyard for generations.
